What this is

These are the basic terms for using the Runlit website and (if we work together) the services we provide. Plain-English version below; a longer master service agreement covers the details once we sign you up.

Services

We set up and run an AI answering service for contractors and home service businesses. It answers your customers by text, finds out what they need, helps book the job on your calendar, and texts you when something needs your decision. That is the whole service: we don't build websites or run marketing campaigns. We charge a flat monthly fee, with no setup fee and no long-term contract. You can cancel month to month.

What it costs

$49/mo flat, billed monthly via card or ACH, however many jobs Runlit books. No setup fee, no contract. We charge nothing until Runlitbooks your first job (see “The first-job guarantee” below). We change the price only with 60 days written notice. Add-ons, such as text campaigns, are optional and priced separately, and you pay for one only if you ask for it. No hidden fees.

What you own

You own your customer data (your contacts, their conversations, and your bookings) and your business phone number. We run the answering service; the underlying source code, system prompts, and Runlit dashboard are ours. On cancellation we hand back your customer data and walk away.

What you agree to

  • You only message customers who have opted in. We block sends to anyone who texts STOP.
  • You don't use the system for spam, illegal services, or anything that would get our SMS sender shut down.
  • You pay your monthly fee on time. If a payment fails, we pause the service until it's sorted.

SMS & text messaging

By giving us your phone number on a Runlit form, you agree to receive SMS text messages from us about your inquiry, our services, and (if you become a client) your account. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for assistance. We do not share or sell your mobile phone number or your SMS opt-in to any third party. Full details are in our privacy policy.

Cancellation

Cancel any time before your next billing date and you're done. No exit fees, no “but you signed a contract”: there isn't one. Cancel from your Runlit account or by email; service stops at the end of the billing month. We don't prorate, but we don't charge for the partial month either.

What we don't guarantee

We don't guarantee a specific number of leads, calls, or jobs, apart from the one guarantee below. The system gives you the best shot at not missing them; what happens after that is your business. We target 99.9% uptime; we don't pay credits for downtime, we just text you when it happens and fix it. Our liability is capped at three months of fees. We are a small shop, not an insurance policy.

The first-job guarantee. We charge nothing until Runlit books your first job. If it books no job in your first 30days live, you owe nothing and the service ends. “Live” starts the day Runlit starts answering your customers. A booked job is a calendar booking Runlit makes from a new conversation, or a lead you mark as won. The guarantee applies when these are in place: your missed calls are forwarded to your Runlitline, your hours and job types are set up, and you answer its approval texts within a few hours. It covers only the first job; after that it's $49/mo flat, whatever it books.
